The photographer Gwénaëlle Hansen is fascinated by the concepts of movement, time, memory, urban reality and travel. And also by the pure pictoriality which can be introduced in photography, be it through fascinating and harmonious colour combinations or by the composition of the photo. The image is presented as it was seen by the artist, first ephemerally and unconsciously on the spot, and later re-discovered thanks to the magic of photographic technique. It may also be said that Gwénaëlle Hansen, because of the act of blurring her images, introduces the philosophical notion of extended time, changing an instantaneous capture of reality into an apparently enlarged segment of its apprehension.
