Emmanuel Steinhauser's art is a secret that has to be discovered slowly and patiently, although his sculptures catch our eye at once, thanks to their intrinsic beauty. Taking a heavy chunk of "petit granit", he deliberately begins his scarifications that go deeper and deeper, until the stone looks like the projection of his inner core. Emmanuel Steinhauser seems to know instinctively the ruggedness of what lies behind the smooth surface of the visible. It is a formidable experience to be confronted with his creations. To walk around one of his sculptures prepares you to discover some well-hidden secrets (his and possibly yours).
